Day 8 cont. – Waiting for the Doctor

MIL believes some of her medicine was stolen out of her bags on the last day in San Gimignano (Wed).  Stolen or not, they’re definitely missing and while she’s ‘made do’, the pain in her legs has been getting worse.  While they could, in theory, go all the way down to Naples, see a doctor, and get refills, that’s a LOT of work, there has to be a better way.  Through phone calls, emails, etc with her doctor in the States, I end up typing emails and giving directions to an Italian doctor who apparently makes house calls.  To compound the problems, she also threw out her back while babysitting DN this morning and has been bedridden essentially all day.  We’re trying to concentrate on the blessings of being able to FIND a doctor that makes house calls and can hopefully help us get her medicine replaced… but I guess we’ll know in half an hour.
Editor's note - Many of you will of course be inclined to pray for her quick healing... but you may also have noticed that we've fallen a few days behind with our updates. Some rest and pharmacological intervention has her back up and around - providing her invaluable service as the only passenger on the bus that actually grew up in Italy. Continued prayers are of course appreciated.
